Scientists observed Yk-11-induced protective effects on organ and muscle tissue, as well as the overall suppression of inflammation induced by gram-negative bacteria. The longevity rate in eight-week-old septic mice treated with YK-11 also increased significantly. The researchers concluded this is due to the suppression of myostatin and an increase in the expression of the follistatin gene [5].

In a different study,  a combination of DHT with YK11 was concluded to accelerate cell mineralization and proliferation in MC3T3-E1 mouse osteoblast cells. YK-11 treatment also provoked the expression of osteoblast-specific differentiation markers, these are osteocalcin and osteoprotegerin when compared to untreated cells [6]. The same study also showed that YK-11 also seems to activate non-genomic signaling via phosphorylation of AKT protein. This signaling pathway is established to be an important regulator of androgen-mediated osteoblast differentiation, making it an interesting compound for further research in the field of bone tissue improvements[6].

YK11 vs RAD 140

RAD140 is still a relatively new compound and has not been extensively studied. YK11, nonetheless, has been shown to be very effective in increasing muscle mass and strength in animal subjects. YK11 also appears to have fewer side effects than RAD140.
